FOTOLOREA | photography by Joey Pasco

I've been shooting on and off since 2001, mostly digital, with a few short stints using film in 2003-2004. In April 2012 I acquired a Leica M6, reigniting my passion for photography and giving me reason to rediscover film.

I have never loved photography more than I do now, shooting and processing my own film while my digital SLRs gather dust in the closet. While most of the work you'll find here is digital, I hope to gradually include more and more images shot on film.

My inspirations are the early-mid 20th century documentary photographers who defined the genre: Cartier-Bresson, Erwitt, Winogrand, Doisneau, Frank, Smith, Capa, Kertesz, Lange, and the like. I have a particular fondness for old LIFE Magazine photography.

For what is a photograph, if not a story told with light?
